Tebow

.

Ok so I am back already, but all ESPN wants to do is debate about Tim Tebow. Is there really anyone out there that thinks he is this great QB? Well if you do then you need learn what the position of QB means. I understand that he plays with great passion and intensity, but who in the NFL doesn't play with that? For some reason the media has made Tebow this Icon that he doesn't need to be. I will give him credit for winning football games in great fashion, but I will not say that he is a good QB. His completion percentage is under 50% in almost every game. Come on people he was third on the depth chart at the beginning of the season for a reason. Micheal Vick was a much better passer and more dynamic as a runner then Tebow will ever be and every reporter has always bashed his QB skills so what makes Tebow so much better? Here is an idea....why don't we just back off of Tebow and let him have a year or two to develop and then make the argument if he is a going to be a good QB in the NFL.

  1. As much as I love Tim Tebow I in know way think he is a great QB. I believe he has the ability to fire up those around him and he plays harder than anyone around him. The media wants to crucify him one week and crown him the next. He is hated for his time at Florida where he was arguably the greatest college player ever. Let the kid play. I do have to say though look at those who were drafted in his peer group and look what they are doing. Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford, and Matt Stafford all were said to be better QB's but look who is rolling deeper into the playoffs. I'll hold my judgement on his long term potential a few years, but ill keep wearing his jersey.

  2. Ill agree with some of your remarks but lets not compare him to Stafford or Bradford. For one Stafford has turned an entire franchise around and gave the community a sign of winning that has not been in the organization since the late 90s and those years they still weren't a great team. Plus Stafford is overshadowed with his ability to through because the league has transformed into a passing league with the likes of Brees, Brady and Rodgers this year. Stafford did more with less last year then what Tebow has done with the Broncos. Denver has a good D behind him and Bradford dam near won his division in his rookie year. He was injured most of the year so he really can't be graded on his performance for this year. I will give you McCoy but once again he may have one of the least talented skill position players in the entire league. He also plays in a division that has 3 teams ranked in the top 6 in defense. So kind of hard to establish great QB stats when your skill players are below average and play the toughest defenses 6 times in a year. The real truth is still to be determined on all of these players but maybe the real media will stick with one opinion and ride it out instead of switching from week to week.
